Best bets May 23-29, 2024: General Clinton Canoe Regatta, Hall of Fame Classic, Full Moon events, and more

The unofficial start of summer is this weekend, with thousands of visitors coming to our area for the General Clinton Canoe Regatta and the Hall of Fame Classic. 

For the first time as an adult, I’ll be joining in Bainbridge’s General Clinton Regatta revelry, which I hear from a friend who lives in Bainbridge is quite a big deal–Midway rides! Craft fair! Tractor pulls! Fireworks! Fun! 

Also this weekend is the opening of a special exhibition celebrating the Negro League at the Baseball Hall of Fame, as well as the annual Hall of Fame Classic game with Hall-of-Famers and former Major Leaguers matched up at Doubleday Field. 

On top of these annual spectacles are opportunities for outdoor live music, theater, an art opening, and events celebrating the full moon in May, the “Flower Moon.”
