Editor’s Note
Fall is bonkers (in a good way) when it comes to events in our area. There is so much to do and the hills are so gloriously golden, it makes you want to experience as much of our area’s peak “this place is great” season.
Last weekend my sister-in-law and I popped over to Kaaterskill Falls for a hike followed by ice cream sundaes in Tannersville. It was like Catskill Disneyland. The trail was packed with families and people taking glamour shots with a background of orange, yellow, and red.
Oneonta is situated between so much to do if you want to get out of town for a quick day trip. We’re in the middle of everywhere. This weekend, the out-of-town events I’m most looking forward to are the Hootenanny at Maple Shade Farm in Delhi, which feels like its annual Fall Harvest Festival with a fun rebrand, and a screening of “Eraserhead” with live music accompaniment at Bushel in Delhi.
In Oneonta, I’ll be taking a couple of dresses to be mended for free at the Repair Cafe at Mainview Gallery, popping into the Nighttime Alley Market behind Roots and the Oneonta History Center, and reliving my teenage years at the Black Oak’s alt-rock “Warped Tour” bonanza. I hope I have enough energy on Monday to check out the new weekly trivia night at Muddy River in Oneonta, too.
Time and energy are the only things holding me back from basking in everything our area has to offer. I hope you find yourself with both to enjoy the Oneonta area this week.
Hope to see you out and about,
Cassandra

Stage Time Trivia at Muddy River
Monday, Oct. 14, 6 p.m. | Muddy River Oneonta
Stage Time Trivia is king in Utica and Syracuse, with fun rounds of trivia and questions that require general knowledge rather than niche information. Muddy River has enlisted the service and is hosting weekly trivia nights on Mondays with Khalil Jade leading the event. Stage Time Trivia in Utica is how I found my social group when I lived there, and I’m thrilled the format has made its way to Oneonta.
